Partnering with TDI Connect to Bridge the Digital Divide
February 27, 2025
One of the simplest things we enjoy doing at OceanFirst Foundation is making connections for nonprofits and its even easier when a nonprofit is hoping to meet our colleagues at OceanFirst Bank.
In early 2024, OceanFirst Foundation was introduced by an OceanFirst Bank team member to Mark Iorio, Chair of TDI Connect, a nonprofit that refurbishes computers and laptops donated by companies and schools, and distributes them in collaboration with Trenton nonprofits to individuals and groups lacking internet access.
In December 2024, Mark from TDI attends OceanFirst Foundation’s winter gathering of nonprofit CEOs and Board Leaders. Julie Bellezza, Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator, from the Foundation team gets the opportunity to introduce Mark to a member of the OFB technology team.
Fast forward to February 2025, members of the OceanFirst Bank team meet with Mark to donate 90 laptops. This donation will help families and students served by TDI, ensuring that they gain access to essential resources and opportunities within the community.
“OceanFirst Bank’s generous donation of over 90 laptops to TDI Connect will have a transformative impact on the communities it serves. These devices, distributed through TDI’s nonprofit network, will empower families and individuals by bridging the digital divide—providing essential access to technology for education, employment, and everyday connectivity. With each laptop equipped with vital productivity tools and supported by technical training, this contribution ensures that recipients are better prepared to thrive in an increasingly digital world. OceanFirst’s commitment to digital equity will leave a lasting, positive mark on the community,” said Mark Iorio.
We look forward to building on this partnership. If your nonprofit has a great idea and sees an opportunity, reach out to Julie today!
