Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II, Memorial Fund Will Have a New HERO Soon!

Everybody needs a HERO and soon a special four-legged friend will be on its way to help a wounded Veteran in need of a service dog. Earlier this spring, our partners at the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II, Memorial Fund presented OceanFirst with a special honor – the naming of a service dog – in recognition of our long-time support of nonprofits that serve Veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces through the Home Runs for Heroes Program. So incredible!

We engaged our friends and customers at OceanFirst Bank to help us come up with suggested names and they did not disappoint. Champion, Buddy, Chewy, Patriot, Sarge, and Noble made the list but the #1 top pick was – HERO – a name befitting both service dog and its future wounded warrior companion. Its going to be awhile before HERO completes his training and is awarded to a warrior, but we’ll be sure to share some pics once the match is made.
